The Regev Lab and the Klarman Cell Observatory (KCO) at The Broad Institute is seeking a full-time, Writing Team Leader, whose main role is to work side by side with Aviv Regev and be a key of contact for all writing endeavors. Aviv Regev is a core faculty member, Chair of the faculty of the Broad Institute and Director of the KCO with a diverse research group and a sponsored research portfolio.

We are looking for a dependable and creative individual with a scientific background, proven writing and editorial prowess, and excellent organizational skills. The candidate will oversee day-to-day delivery of all writing projects to ensure successful research outcomes in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


The writing team leader will integrate and coordinate all writing activities in the Regev group and serve as the point of contact in the team for collaboration with other Broad groups and departments and deeply engaged in writing projects involving multiple teams.

The leader will be engaged in writing projects involving deep scientific expertise, including vision documents, white papers, proposal, reports, and scientific manuscripts.

The leader will liaise and collaborate with the Communications, Office of Academic Affairs, and Development departments, providing writing support as necessary on press releases, news stories, media requests, letters of support for awards, development proposals and stewardship reports.

To complete these and other writing tasks—including, but not limited to, letters of recommendation, event materials, and correspondence—the leader will manage a small team of writers and illustrators/graphic designers.

The leader will also serve as a point of contact on Human Cell Atlas (HCA) communications and writing needs of the executive office of the HCA.

Must be able to collectively share and curate the library of reports and documents.


Ph.D. in the life sciences

5+ years experience writing about science for diverse audiences

Experience as an editor is a plus.

Strong organizational skills

Strong leadership qualities, including supervision of a team and building and maintaining complex inter-departmental matrixed relationships.
