We are seeking a Technical Assistant in the Traverso lab at Brigham and Women’s Hospital with a strong background in drug delivery. The research group consists of chemists, biologists, engineers, pharmaceutical scientists, and physicians and focuses on developing clinically relevant solutions to gastrointestinal drug delivery systems.
The candidate should have a B.S./M.A. or equivalent in biomedical engineering, material science, chemical engineering, bioengineering or a related field with at least 2 years of experience (co-op and internships considered).
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience one or more of the following areas:
- Polymer synthesis and physicochemical characterization techniques such as GPC, NMR, XRD
- Formulation development and physicochemical characterization techniques such as DLS, XRD, HPLC, fluorescence and UV spectrophotometry
- Mammalian cell culture techniques and executing in vitro biochemical assays
- Animal handling and executing in vivo studies
Training to gain further skills will be available.
