    As a Development Engineer in the Electro-Optics and Instruments Group, the candidate will play a critical role in the development of Electro-Optic and Atom-Optic inertial instruments.  This engineer will work closely with a team of engineers and physicists to develop, model and characterize prototype instrument designs.  The candidate will be required to develop a range of models to support instrument development and performance assessments of higher level assemblies.  Modeling activities may include highly detailed performance models of existing sensor technology or initial abstract models of new technologies allowing for insertion into higher level simulations.  Modeling activities will be augmented with sensor data where available.  The candidate is expected to participate in hardware test planning and data processing to support model development and validation.


    Required Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree, or higher, in physics, electrical engineering, or related discipline is required. 

    • A strong physics background is highly desired. 

    • The candidate would ideally have inertial sensor modeling experience. 

    • Additionally, inertial sensor test and data processing experience would be highly valued. 

    Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
