The Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Systems Architecture Group at Draper is seeking a weapon system analyst with broad technical skills to support the development of enabling GNC systems architectures within multi-disciplinary teams to conceptualize, develop, and/or assess robust weapon system solutions for the war fighter, including but not limited to advanced missile systems, precision guided munitions, space systems, and enabling guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) technology.
A successful candidate will be: (a) highly motivated to support the delivery of technology solutions that are of strategic importance to the nation; (b) dedicated to developing the in-depth mission and technology domain expertise that enable realization of such solutions for complex systems. A successful candidate will be capable of planning and executing individual tasks (as identified below) as an individual contributor on a multi-disciplinary team as well as leading small teams as necessary.
Tasking may include: identification of customer needs, requirements analysis and flow-down, system concept/architecture development (including analysis of alternatives), system design, interface definition/control, verification/test planning, development of systems engineering documentation, model development, simulation development, performance assessment, documentation of analysis results, and presentation of results to both internal and external stake-holders.
Applicants must have the following key qualifications:
- An B.S. degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline and 3-5 years of experience;
Candidates should have sound knowledge in core technologies (guidance, navigation, and control (GNC), aerodynamics, actuation systems, electronics, embedded software) as well as practical systems engineering skills required to integrate these core technical disciplines;
- Familiarity with systems engineering for defense systems;
- Extensive experience in system modeling and dynamic simulation development;
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex technical ideas.
Any of the following additional qualifications are desirable:
- 3+ years of professional experience working with missile or aerospace systems;
- Experience specifically with missile, guided munitions, and/or missile defense systems.
- Experience in simulation experiment design and analysis of complex system-of-systems.
- Experience in the design of integrated hardware/software systems.
An active DoD security clearance at the SECRET level, or an ability to obtain same, is required.
