    Responsible for system configuration in support of engineering projects; custom hardware, driver, and kernel module installation dependent upon project usage; and maintenance in adherence to IT policy.  Involves planning and performing both hardware replacement and OS updates, coordinating with independent projects using the systems, and communication to projects on changes and enhancements that are pertinent to software


    Required Qualifications:

    ·         Demonstrated Linux administration by experience, backing by certification preferred

    ·         Experience budgeting hardware refresh cycles

    ·         Experience with managing hardware drivers and kernel modules

    ·         Experience with Ansible for automating OS installation and customization

    ·         Experience installing and/or building from source new libraries and their dependencies equested for new projects

    ·         Experience submitting patches back to open source projects for fixes developed at Draper

    Preferred Qualifications

    ·         Experience configuring & managing OS containers (e.g. Docker) a plus

    Security Requirement:    

            ·         Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
