    Draper is conducting a nationwide search for a highly innovative engineer/scientist with significant design, development and technical leadership experience in acousto-optics,fiber-optic acoustic transducers, ceramic transducers, general sonar and acoustic systems – including algorithms and electronics. Key responsibilities will include technical leadership of concept definition, design, build and test of novel acousto-optic and acoustic systems. The successful candidate will have both a leadership as well as a hands-on role in technology and systems/applications development. The candidate will work closely with a team of engineers and physicists, and lead the prototyping and test of advanced instrument designs.


    Doctorate or Masters degree in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, acoustic or optical engineering, or related discipline is preferred. A strong technical background in the relevant physics, algorithms and electronics is highly desired. The candidate must have significant experience in leading complex instrument/system development efforts. Experience in test and measurement in both laboratory and field conditions is desired. The candidate must be capable of creating and utilizing system simulations in MATLAB, C++, Python, etc. as well as HWIL platforms. The individual must be self-motivated and must thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
