Under the direct supervision of the Lead Supervisor, performs a variety of tasks in the coordination/managing of Environmental Services. Responsible for the supervision and accomplishment of the personnel maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for patients, visitors and staff. Must work closely with all Departments and staff to ensure the patient's best interests are top priority. Plans, organizes, supervises, coordinates and controls the activities of the Environmental Services Department.


* Develops, evaluates and implements departmental policies and procedures, goals and objectives and standards of work.

* Monitors existing programs for compliance with the environmental policies and procedures.

* Identifies potential environmental issues and develops strategies to effectively respond.

* Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREDAbility to type and use computer, excellent people skills, enthusiasm for helping others, respectful attitude.

* Able to easily build rapport and trust. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences and memos. Must have good problem solving skills, ability to collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and interpret documents. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.


* Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental services


* Previous supervisory experience preferred in a healthcare environment.

* Associates or Bachelor's degree
