Blue Rose is seeking a Behavioral Health Coordinator to join our team in support of our work with a federal client in Calexico, CA. This role is open to US Citizens ONLY.
The Behavioral Health Coordinator is responsible for ensuring quality case management services are provided to the unaccompanied children (UC) population at Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) UC Influx Centers while maintaining compliance with established ORR policies and procedures. This position will provide quality social services, individually and in groups, to clients and their families to accomplish UC Influx program objectives and goals.
Essential Functions:
- Engage and involve children and their sponsors in the reunification process
- Document progress that families and sponsors make toward risk reduction, achievement of service goals and positive case outcomes
- Continually assess ongoing changes in behavior, circumstances or conditions that may affect child safety
- Meet all ORR guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position
- Maintain a case load in accordance with ORR policies and procedures and licensing and contract standards
- Work with Behavioral Health staff supporting the reunification process of the UC population
- Compile, prepare, submit, and maintain accurate records, files, forms, statistics, and additional information in accordance with agency policies, licensing and/or contract requirements
- Determine all options available for youth within the required time frame
- Screen calls prior to facilitating communication with minors to ensure child safety
- Utilize the assistance of all behavioral health to achieve program goals
- Ensure confidentiality in all program operations and service population
- Attend daily department meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills:
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to always maintain professionalism in a high paced environment
- Prioritize and organize responsibilities and duties efficiently
- Work expertly either independently or as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Work in a fast-paced environment and remain emotionally controlled
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed or requested by Lead BH Coordinator
- Ability to work flexible hours, UC facilities operate 24/7
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or related fields
- Must have at least one year of experience working with child welfare standards, best practices, quality assurance or compliance
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Must successfully pass all pertinent and required background checks, drug screens, and child abuse and neglect checks
- Bilingual highly preferred – primarily Spanish
- 1 year of related experience and/or training in, ORR operated centers, preferred
- Experience working with immigrant populations and child welfare, preferred
