CLERK - PAYROLL NEW GAMING EXPERIENCE JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintaining payroll records and files. Produces manual checks upon termination or as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Calculate and post wage information pertaining to hours worked, benefits, tips, etc. that is necessary to provide accurate, timely payroll for all employees.

* Maintain all records pertaining to employees' payroll file.

* Participate in obtaining and posting all monthly and quarterly tax information for Federal and State Commission reports.

* Maintain all records pertaining to licensing payments and reimbursements.

* Responsible for all manual payroll with the proper authorization.

* Complete all data necessary for reports/verifications requested by authorized agencies.

* Print and edit all time sheets weekly.

* Process all tip compliance forms, sick and vacation requests.

* Reconcile weekly payroll reports.

* Verify all employees W-2 before issue date.

* Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of classified information. Knowledge of high volume payroll systems, processes and procedures. Knowledge and understanding of payroll documentation procedures and requirements. Skill in the use of PC and related software applications. Competent in the use of computer spreadsheets, database and mainframe applications in a Windows environment. Knowledge of general accounting principles, Federal and State tax laws. Strong attention to detail and the ability to understand and process complex paperwork. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to tactfully and diplomatically deal with the public and staff. Must possess excellent business sense and high professional ethics. Must possess a high regard for customer service and employee relations, with the ability to perform in fast paced and goal oriented environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED required. A minimum of one (1) year of automated payroll processing experience. Advanced degree in Accounting preferred.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Tribal Gaming Commission.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Exceptional reading, writing and public speaking skills are important to the successful conduct of this position. Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical reports, general business periodicals, professional journals or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, rates, ratio, proportions and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to apply legal, regulatory and procedure doctrine, concepts and policy to practical situations. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This is a fast paced work environment and the position requires the ability to cope with it. The casino environment has moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment.

WORKING HOURS:

Because we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, most positions require flexibility in scheduling and may require Team Members be available for evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. A typical workweek is 40 hours and normal work schedules may vary based on business needs and may include scheduled shifts Monday through Sunday. Position may require overtime.
