Hourly Union Foreman, Sand and Gravel Operation

Overview

A leading supplier of quality, construction-building materials in the United States, has an immediate opening for a union hourly foreman to support a sand and gravel operation at our Dyer Lake Sand & Gravel site in Burlington, WI. This position is primarily responsible for providing hourly union operations employees' oversight, maintenance, and equipment operating to support the facility. This position will also have a role in acting as a project manager on various plant improvement and mine plan related activities. This position will also support the Plant Manager and team in all activities regarding safety, environmental compliance, and plant consumables purchasing.

Responsibilities

* Coordinates tasks according to priorities and plans.

* Allocates general and daily responsibilities.

* Supervises, coordinates and monitors plant activities to include the maintenance of equipment.

* Supports and assists personnel in achieving timely and efficient production schedules

* Ensures manpower and resources are adequate

* Ensures conformance with policies and procedures, safety regulations, and local, State and Federal laws and regulations.

* Oversees the overall safety of all personnel working at, or visiting the site when the Manager is off site.

* Ensures proper documentation of operations activities in logs and/or incident reports.

* Maintains an effective system of communications with all team members, land owners, and customer truck drivers.

* Acts as a go-to resource for troubleshooting plant malfunctions, and other special needs.

* Reports on progress to Plant Manager or Superintendent.

Qualifications

* High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

* A minimum of three (3) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

* Experience in a skilled trade (maintenance, plant operator) preferred.

* Demonstrated leadership abilities

* Strong oral and written communication skills

* Proficiency in general computer tasks, email, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint

* Strong organizational and planning skills

* Team-orientation

* Problem-solving abilities
