License/Certification/ Education:

* Bachelor's Degree and 10 or more years progressive experience in financial management

* Experience as a CFO/financial leader of a division of a corporation

* MBA preferred

* CMA or CPA preferred

* Experience in a financial leadership rotational training program within a corporation preferred

This individual's responsibility will include the following:

Business Partner/Financial Leader

* Functions as business partner and decision support for division (~$1B in revenue) leadership team. Financial leader of the business and member of the division's operating committee (leadership team).

* Supports the Divisional Senior Vice Presidents in delivering profitable growth.

* Ensures that the division allocates resources effectively with rigorous pressure on costs and a commitment to value creation.

* Identifies problems and value levers and shepherds the business through implementations of solutions/levers.

* Builds a high performance team with bench strength and multiple succession candidates.

* Leads development of a high performance culture within the leadership/management team.

* Leads and manages the divisional finance team.

Finance Management, Control and Advisory

* Ensures consolidated financial performance information is accurate and timely, taking into account the risk levels within the forecast with options to mitigate as appropriate.

* Understands and challenges the financial position of each business area, holding budget owners to account for their performance against budget/forecast and supporting the management teams in further analysis as required.

* Provide bridges and reporting of actual vs budget, forecast and prior year to divisional leadership, segment leadership, and corporate, monthly and as required.

* Leads the intervention, investigation and resolution of in-year and short-term financial issues.

* Provides guidance and functional/business review to individual business/function heads.

* Leads the long-term financial strategy with a focus on driving value and strategic management of funding across all areas of the divisional activity.

* Ensures effective capital investment management is addressing governance, risk, financial performance and post-investment reviews. Approves all capital and lease requests.

Analysis, Budget and Forecast

* Delivers the annual divisional budget with full bridges of all metrics year over year.

* Ensures accurate monthly forecast during the year, based on relevant and timely updated business information.

* Prepares close-the-gap and restructuring plans as required during the course of the year.

Controls and Compliance

* Supports good local and global cost control; cost management behavior in the business, promoting good financial disciplines and risk management processes.

* Advises the business on ways of assuming greater degrees of financial accountability.

* Ensures that corporate and internal policies are followed by the management.

* Supports delivery of a robust and effective internal control framework and compliance environment within the division, addressing risk management process, internal controls as well as any external reporting requirements or inquiries from tax/legal and external audit authorities and corporate departments.

* Supports the internal audit team when required during each engagement, provides data, coordinates, reviews findings, prepares action plans and ensures the execution for all locations.

* Travel and PS vendor/order review/approval and monitoring.

Strategic Planning/M&A

* Prepares and presents relevant information for strategic planning and long range forecasting sessions and actively participates to mold it into a road-map of future business direction.

* Supports the strategic M&A team and evaluates potential deals/M&A opportunities to grow the division. Leads the development of financial proforma's and synergy plans for potential acquisitions.

* Integration of all recently acquired businesses into the LabCorp suite of processes and policies. Consolidation of the financial groups and reorganization plans.
