Operations specialist I, II, III

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs procedure development, writing and reviews. Performs CR evaluations, effectiveness follow-ups and reviews. Performs clearance order development, preparation and tagging authority reviews.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform miscellaneous duties such as e-plan, required reading, supporting Operations crews as needed, updating Operations databases and attending training as deemed necessary by management. The Operations Specialist III will be responsible for budget input.

Perform procedure writing and development such as procedure revisions/OTCSs, two-year relevancy reviews, 50.59 screenings, cross-disciplinary reviews and qualified reviews. The Operations Specialist III will be responsible for reviewing design packages and determining applicability to Operations procedures.

Perform Corrective Actions such as CR evaluations, effectiveness follow-up, root cause, independent reviewer, self-assessments, CARB presentations and identify and report discrepancies/deficiencies.

Perform clearance order development, preparation and tagging authority tasks, as qualified.

Support outage activities such as resolving outage critique and resolution items, meeting outage milestones and schedules.

Attending training to enhance technical knowledge and skills, professionalism, judgment, integrity, safety awareness, policies, procedures, personal standards of performance and commitment to quality. The Operations Specialist III will be required to assist in training and development.

Participate in group activities such as intra/interdepartmental activities regarding LERs, RERs, Operation's concerns, regulatory submittals and correspondence. Provide input to supervisors on job performance. Assist in development of plans for organizing and controlling programs to ensure the program meets the intended function. Brief team activities to supervision on progress towards completing projects/programs on schedule. (Operations Specialist III will brief and coordinate team activities.) Perform evaluations on software/hardware specifications and vendor proposals and make recommendations on vendor selection.

REQUIREMENTS

This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

The Operations Specialist I requires:

* Six years experience in nuclear plant operations; or,

* have been qualified as a Nuclear Station Operator with two years experience in nuclear plant operations; or,

* have been qualified as a Senior Nuclear Station Operator with one year experience;

* or, must have qualified in the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power Program; or,

* must have held a Reactor Operator's license; or,

* a BS degree in any field

The Operations Specialist II requires:

* eight years experience in nuclear plant operations; or,

* have been qualified as a Nuclear Station Operator with four years experience in nuclear plant operations; or,

* have been qualified as a Senior Nuclear Station Operator with three years experience; or,

* must have qualified in the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power program with two years experience in nuclear plant operations; or,

* must have held a Reactor Operator's license with two years experience in nuclear plant operations; or,

* must have held a WCNOC Senior Reactor Operator's certification; or,

* a BS degree in any field and two years experience in nuclear plant operations; or,

* two years as an Operations Specialist I

The Operations Specialist III requires:

* ten years experience in nuclear plant operations; or,

* must have held a Reactor Operator's license with four years experience in nuclear plant operations; or,

* must have held a Senior Reactor Operator's license with two years experience in nuclear plant operations; or,

* a BS degree in any field and four years experience in nuclear plant operations; or,

* a BS degree in a technician field and two years experience in nuclear plant operations

Note: This is a bargaining unit position.
