We are looking for an enthusiastic Kids Academy Assistant Manager who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and encouraging kids to stay physically active and intellectually engaged in their areas of passion. A typical day for a Kids Academy Assistant Manager could include:

* Interacting with parents and their children to build lasting relationships

* Training and supervising Kids Academy team members

* Participating in a game of Crab Tag or Thunderball

* Promoting Life Time Kids Academy classes, programs and activities

* Facilitating a staff meeting

* Managing the department payroll and budget

Job Description

As the Kids Academy Assistant Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operation of the Life Time Kids Academy PlaySpace. You'll manage and lead a group of team members who are responsible for providing a fun, entertaining, engaging, educational and safe environment for our Life Time Junior Members. Activities will feature a variety of interactive, educational- and/or fitness-based programs that kids can enjoy while their parents work out or go to a LifeSpa appointment. And by consistently delivering high-quality customer service and promoting Kids Academy programs and activities, you will help grow and retain Kids Academy Memberships.

Duties & Responsibilities

Member Experience

* Ensures Life Time Kids Academy team members provide a safe and friendly environment for all members

* Sets the standard for the Kids Department by providing exceptional customer service and meeting our members' needs and expectations

* Responds to member inquiries regarding Life Time programs, products, services, policies and procedures in a professional and timely manner

* Provides a safe, clean and organized PlaySpace area for members

* Connects members to the correct program that fits their area of passion

Sales & Promotion

* Markets and promotes Life Time Kids Academy classes, programs and activities in the club to increase participation

* Ensures team members understand and promote all Life Time Kids programs

* Promotes all Life Time programs, products and services

Financial & Budgetary

* Manages the Kids Academy team member payroll within budgetary guidelines daily

* Makes recommendations regarding the annual department budget to the Kids Academy Manager or General Manager

* Monitors Profit and Loss statements

* Formulates, monitors and reconciles the budget and financial reports

Managerial & Supervisory

* Manages and supports all Kids Academy team members

* Ensures all certifications and LTU classes are current in the department

* Completes and documents daily inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety

* Submits incident reports in a timely matter

* Completes new hire paperwork, payroll, and scheduling in a timely manner

* Trains team members through shadowing team members, orientation, direction and feedback

* Tracks all pay scale statistics

* Assesses individual performance, provides feedback and coaches LTKA Team Members accordingly

* Makes hiring, promotion, disciplinary and termination recommendations to the Kids Manager

* Completes casting, interviewing and hiring of Kids Academy team members

* Facilitates in-services monthly or quarterly in-services

* Resolves child conflicts in a swift and professional manner

* Immediately report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors or abuse relating to youth

* Two-year College degree

* Two years of customer service experience

* Two-year experience teaching or working in a children's program

* Two-year experience in day care setting as a lead teacher or two consecutive summers of camp experience with increased responsibility

* Two-years of supervisory/management experience

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:

* First Aid certification required within the first 60 days of hire

* Infant/Child and Adult CPR/AED certification required within the first 60 days of hire

* Early Childhood Education Certificate preferred

Other Requirements

At Life Time, the safety of our Junior Members is a top priority. Applicants must complete all state or federal requirements prior to their first day of directly working with children or within another specified timeframe. Requirements vary by state and may include, but are not limited to:

* Physical

* Tuberculosis test

* All required vaccinations (or signed exemption)

* Fingerprints taken by a local police department for a background check

* Background checks required by state specific child care licensing laws in addition to a Life Time background check

* Continuing education courses for continued employment in working with children

All requirements must be completed at the cost of the applicant, unless prohibited by law.
