Overview

Janitorial/Mover workers are those employees who are generally responsible for the cleaning of all areas of assigned buildings. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; overall cleaning of the building , offices , conference rooms, lobbies and other public areas such as breakrooms, restrooms and wiping down of counters/tables, garbage pickup and removal. Interested candidates should have great attention to detail, ability to lift 70 lbs, maintains a clean/organized appearance at all times, be a team player and is always willing to help when needed.

Responsibilities

Custodian is responsible for facility to be maintained in a clean, sanitary, safe and pleasant environment. Custodian duties include but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, dusting, and window cleaning. The individual must ensure completion of assigned cleaning tasks within each scheduled shift. Must follow safety procedures.

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

* Responsible for all basic cleaning

* Cleaning of restrooms includes restocking toilet tissue and other dispensers, emptying trash, clean and sanitize fixtures, clean mirrors, spot clean partition doors and walls, sweep and mop tile floors, and clean toilets and urinals

* Move furniture, vacuum, reposition furniture, empty trash and replace liners

* Check all trash containers prior to moving it

* Cleaning includes dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, gum removal, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor and spot cleaning glass

* Performs additional duties as required, including attending to flooded areas, incidental spills, and related clean-up work for trash and restroom concerns

* Restock carts and closets at the end of each shift

* Strong communication skills

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Qualifications

The position requires a minimum of one year prior experience in housekeeping/ janitorial/maintenance work. Basic knowledge of housekeeping techniques, proper use of maintenance and housekeeping equipment, ability to follow specific guidelines and schedules for cleaning and safety procedures is required. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 70 lbs. Excellent human relation skills are necessary to demonstrate a cordial and helpful demeanor to other ICL staff, resident, and visitors. High school or equivalent.
