Centralized Mortgage Banker--Brookfield

The Centralized Mortgage Banker will be responsible for responding to customer requests for mortgages. They will work with customers over the telephone and walk them through the mortgage loan process. Incumbents will prequalify prospective home buyers and advise them on financing alternatives, manage the loan pipeline and work with the customers to close loans.

This position will respond to customer requests for information on mortgages and will assist customers with their mortgage needs. Through providing exceptional customer service and advocacy, the role will build, maintain and expand customer relationships in order to generate business opportunities and referrals to other lines of business. In addition, the Centralized Mortgage Banker will provide guidance to customers throughout the mortgage application and processing activities and will match customers to the appropriate mortgage product.

This position will ensure sales efforts are aligned with company mortgage growth and profitability objectives.

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree preferred

* 1 to 2 years of mortgage experience with a reputable financial services organization – or equivalent work experience

Knowledge:

* This position requires Credit Qualification. The incumbent must possess a basic level of Credit knowledge and skills and a basic level of Portfolio Management knowledge and skills according to the standards established within the Credit Qualification Process Policies & Procedures.

* In-depth understanding and knowledge of the mortgage lending process and applicable regulatory requirements

* Understanding of the credit and lending process and related systems

* Mortgage product knowledge

* Ability to match customer mortgage needs with appropriate mortgage product

Skills:

* Strong interpersonal, sales and customer service skills

* Strong communication and relationship building skills

* Strong negotiation skills

* Demonstrated PC/computer skills with solid understanding of MS Office and the ability to use the Bank's loan origination system and other applicable mortgage applications

* Good analytical skills

* Strong organizational skills

Hours: availability to work between 8 am - 6 pm
