Receiving Clerk

Job Summary: Performs a variety of shipping and receiving tasks. Verifies materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate departments/destinations. Prepares items for shipment ensuring cost effective courier services.

Functional Job Duties:

* Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, wheelbarrow, or other device.

* Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination, using hand-operated crane or hoist, or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination

* Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together, using banding machine and clincher.

* Clamps sections of portable conveyor together or places conveyor sections on blocks or boxes to facilitate movement of materials or products.

* Removes samples of materials, labels with identifying information

* Lifts heavy objects by hand or using power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds, to assist machine operators.

* May occasionally operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.

Qualifications

* Previous experience with safe operation of forklift

* Must be able to interpret receiving documents, safety rules, and procedures

* Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and inventory software

* Must be knowledgeable in warehousing procedures

* Ability to pay close attention to detail is required.

Must possess sufficient interpersonal skills to effectively interact with persons inside and outside the Company. Must be able to work under stress and handle multiple priorities. Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations related to job requirements. Must be able to work under stress and meet deadlines. Must be able to maintain and process job-related paperwork effectively. Must be able to handle multiple priorities.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to go up and down stairs. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able tp operate a Computer, telephone and other office equipment. Must not present a risk of injury to self or others while engaged in Company duties. Must be able to work overtime as required.
