Job Description

The primary role of this position is to review and investigate applicable reportable cash transactions and ensure Currency Transaction Reporting (CTRs) are filed in a timely manner in accordance with regulatory requirements. This position reviews cash transaction alerts, reports, and escalates to senior analysts and management complex cases requiring further investigation or possible SAR referrals.

Analyzes, reviews, and edits reportable cash transaction activity through the bank's monitoring system or internal referrals based on customer relationships, documentation, known associations, etc.

Assists in preparation of Currency Transaction Reporting (CTRs) when appropriate.

Ensures proper record keeping is maintained for all reportable cash activity processes and documents.

Provides support to supervisor and senior analysts in the Designation of Exempt Person (DOEP) initial and annual reviews, communication and updates as necessary.

Assists management with requests from internal auditors or examiners as needed.

Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.

Job Requirements

College degree or equivalent experience required.

2-3 years of banking experience; knowledge of AML/BSA compliance is a plus.

CAMS Certification a plus.

Excellent PC skills required.

Ability to learn specific applications as needed.

Understanding of the financial services industry and familiarity with of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, and related regulations and internal policies and practices.

Strong analytical skills to identify suspicious activity and perform research.

Must possess strong objective decision making abilities.

Strong communication skills are needed to effectively prepare and present recommendations and decisions to supervisor.

Ability to work with a team and peers throughout the organization.

Ability to meet deadlines and effectively complete assignments.

Strong organizational skills and attention to details are needed to ensure proper record keeping.
