Transportation Intern

Boulder County Transportation is hiring a Transportation Intern for the summer. The Intern will conduct annual vehicle and bicycle counts and provide support for the Planning, Engineering, and Multi-Modal divisions.

This is an hourly, non-benefited position with Boulder County. The Intern will be expected to work 30 to 40 hours a week through the summer, with a possible extension into the fall. The ideal candidate will work the full 40 hours a week, but with the right candidate, this could be negotiated to 30 hours. This position will work out of Boulder, CO.

Hourly wage: $16.00

Examples of Duties

Job duties will include field data collection for vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle traffic, entering traffic data into database system, infrastructure inventory and evaluation, field work for planning studies and engineering projects, generating maps and plans utilizing GIS, Adobe CS and/or Auto CAD, and performing other duties as assigned. This internship will provide exposure to a variety of duties in the traffic engineering and transportation planning fields.

Please note: Setting and retrieving vehicle and bicycle traffic counting equipment requires working in the County Road Right of Way.
