Oven Operator

Basic Purpose

Under direct supervision, this position works on the bakery production floor to accomplish various duties to operate equipment and handle product in the manufacturing and packaging of baked goods.

Essential Job Functions

* Keep areas clean and safe throughout the work shift.

* Follow production specifications and supervisor directives to operate equipment and ensure continuous proper production of baked goods.

* Adjust bake processes as needed.

* Record data on daily paperwork.

* Support production actitivities in various work areas in the bakery as assigned by supervisor (mixing, dividing, ovens, slicing, packaging, or order pulling for distribution).

* Loading, unloading, pushing and pulling ingredients, finished goods, baking racks, mixing bowls, etc.

* Follow all food safety guidelines.

* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

* Must be able to lift 15 pounds repetitively.

* Must be able to withstand working in high temperatures for a prolonged amount of time.

* Must have dexterous use of both hands.

* Must be able to tolerate air-borne particulate matter (flour dust).

* Must be able to tolerate loud noise from bakery machinery.

* Must be able to read machinery settings (including temperatures) and adjust them accurately.

* Must be able to use and read scales accurately.

* Must be able to record data on daily paperwok.

* Ability to meet attendance requirements and work additional hours and overtime as needed.
