Management Trainees are responsible for assisting the rest of the management team in achievement of store production goals; maintenance of Company culture; store personnel training and operations. Additionally, Management Trainees must meet or exceed all performance minimum standards. They are responsible for accurate completion of closing functions when working a closing shift.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service
- Leads by example in meeting or exceeding all customer service minimum standards.
- When acting as the manager in charge, ensures compliance from the rest of the team.
- Demonstrates Company Guiding Principles in all interactions with Company employees and customers.
- Financial Performance
- Leads by example in meeting or exceeding all performance minimum standards while complying with related policies, procedures, methods and sound business judgment.
- Acts as mentor for new or struggling CSEs.
- Acts as primary coach and driver in attaining monthly store clearance goals.
- Communication
- Actively participates in weekly management team meetings and works with other management team members to surface and resolve store issues and reinforce together the solutions.
- Actively establishes working relationships based on trust and respect and ensures that all store personnel do the same.
- Marketing, Merchandising and Housekeeping
- Maintains individual area of responsibility to standards.
- Participates in providing marketing, merchandising and housekeeping direction and reinforcement to the rest of the team.
- Responsible for store cleanliness when acting as manager on duty.
- Responsible for clearance case maintenance.
- Operations
- Demonstrates proficiency in store balancing and closing paperwork/procedures as well as competency in POS and other standard store operational transactions.
- Ensures operational compliance from team when acting as manager on duty.
- Self Development
- As an Assistant Store Manager in Training, actively establishes and adheres to a personal career development plan with the Store Manager to gain skills necessary to succeed as an Assistant Store Manager.
- Personally completes all appropriate CTU training and testing opportunities, whether mandatory or optional.
- Encompasses principles and skills learned in daily work life.
DIMENSIONS:
When in charge of the store, this position supervises approximately 15-30 employees. No budgetary discretion is allowed without prior authorization.
This position is responsible for executing pertinent group and departmental Key Metrics.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, peers, subordinates, internal and external customers. Must demonstrate effective teamwork with other store employees and with other Company employees.

- Prior successful sales experience required
