Reports to the Chief of Public Safety or designee with responsibilities to coordinate, integrate, implement and manage the design, selection, maintenance, repairs and ongoing details for automated security, parking and building management systems within Boston Medical Center Operations. Ensures consistent and safe service delivery throughout the medical center involving all member institutions.

Ensures consistent and safe service delivery throughout the medical center involving all member institutions. Utilizes the medical centers core values as the basis for decision-making and to facilitate the medical centers mission.

  • Assists the Deputy Chief and Assistant Director of PS Operations in the design of physical security systems for the purpose of providing a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
  • Manage and coordinate new and ongoing projects which will interface with monitoring for the PS dispatch and CC Tech functions.
  • Oversees schedules and facilities work performed by system integrators, locksmiths, contractors and vendors. Coordinates and oversees that the system's work is performed satisfactorily to specifications.
  • Ensures programming and testing of newly installed equipment is complete by the vendors before project is completed.
  • Schedule meetings with departments to review quotes that may involve system work determined by risk assessments performed by Systems Operations
  • Coordinates and oversees programming and testing of newly installed equipment is complete by the vendors before project is completed.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate training of personnel assigned to the Security Command and Control Center and that the center is staffed according to operational needs at all times.
  • Conducts security and or risk assessments of areas to ensure appropriate electronic security measures are integrated, outfitted or recommended, when appropriate.
  • Schedule meetings with departments to review projects and quotes that may involve system work determined by risk assessments performed by System's Integrators of PS operational managers.
  • Upgrades and audits the BUMC Identification Card systems and assists, as requested, with the delivery of related services.
  • Assists with assigning and preparing investigative reports, as requested by the Manager of Operations for PS.
  • Participates in various meetings, committees or task forces, etc. as requested.
  • Provides assistance/resources to BMC staff or departments as requested and assigns appropriate integrator.
  • Works in collaboration with other departments in identifying systems needs including, but not limited to, facilities management (locksmith), public safety, parking, and transportation and control-center services.
  • Provides training programs to continually increase the professionalism of the staff and coordinates programs with other medical center departments/divisions.
  • Reviews and maintains security systems compliance documentation database and its maintenance and functioning is appropriate.
  • Maintains security systems compliance documentation database. Generates BMC reports and assigns the documenting additions and upgrades to systems, and maintenance of existing systems.

EDUCATION:

BA or BS in Informational Technology required. Criminal Justice or related area of study, preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

Lenel access control certificate, MSP special police license, Milestone video platform certificate, Software House access control certificate are required.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 3 to 5 years progressively responsible experience in physical security and IT security software, programs, maintenance, service and integration.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Minimum of 3-5 years of system integration, project management, programming, overseeing and coordinating responsibilities for other integrators.
