Duties:  Apply the principles of software engineering to architect, design and develop web-based, back-end or database applications across our eCommerce platforms. Build and maintain highly scalable systems. Perform design and full stack development to create reusable application components. Design and develop technical stack using technologies such as PHP, JavaScript, HTML, SQL Server, or related applications. Interface with product managers and stakeholders to perform requirements gathering. Oversee and perform code development, testing and production deployment to create applications that meet business needs. Mentor teammates on subject matter knowledge and engineering best practices. Mentor and coach junior engineers in design and perform code review.

Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Science, Information Technology and Management, or a directly related field plus two (2) years of experience performing design and development using PHP, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, or related technologies.

Experience must include one (1) year in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

  • Full-stack web development to ensure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility using PHP, JavaScript, or React

  • Creating scalable front-end or back-end applications using HTML, CSS, PHP, or JavaScript

  • Programming with Python or C#, and working in a .Net framework

  • Scripting with Shell, Transact SQL, or PowerShell

  • Defining test plans and performing unit testing

  • Deploying application code into server environments utilizing Jenkins or Puppet

  • SQL database development including designing queries, triggers and stored procedures, performance tuning, or data ETL

  • Interfacing with business product leaders and engineers to gather requirements and translate requirements into system design.

Will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of described experience.

Experience may be gained before, during, or after issuance of advanced degree.
