Research Assistant II / 40 Hour / Day / BWH - Connor Center For Women's Health

The Research Assistant I is responsible for providing support for research initiatives to fulfill the mission of the Mary Horrigan Connors Center for Women's Health and Gender Biology. The Connors Center is the umbrella organization for women's health research across all departments and programs at Brigham and Women's Hospital; the Center aims to improve the health of women and transform their care through research, education, and advocacy work. The RA will work within a team and will be responsible for conducting clinical research and administrative work associated with running clinical research studies, seminars and events to share research progress, and research training opportunities. The Research Assistant I will report directly to the Administrative Director, and will provide ongoing support for all day-to-day activities of several research initiatives.


* Support the planning and implementation of Connors Center research initiatives to advance understanding of women's health and gender biology.

* Implement clinical research protocols - conduct recruitment and screening visits, administer assessments with study participants, collect and enter data into electronic databases, and submit IRB materials to maintain compliance with the Partners IRB and other federal and institutional guidelines.

* The RA will also be responsible for administrative needs associated with to the creation of diagrams and images related to preparation of presentations and manuscripts, as well as other materials and events intended to disseminate information about Connors Center research initiatives.

* Support internal and external partnerships with Connors Center faculty, research fellows, investigators, collaborators, advocacy groups, and the BWH Development Office.

* Perform other job duties as assigned.

BA/BS, preferably in women's health, biology, psychology, neuroscience, public health, or related discipline.

Minimum of 1 year of prior research professional experience.


* Proficient in computers with working knowledge of Microsoft Office software; experience with graphics and database programs preferred.

* Familiarity with human studies or medical research preferred.

* Experience with data collection and management preferred.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively with research faculty as well as prospective research participants and to maintain a professional demeanor when faced with challenging situations

* Able to plan and coordinate activities, establish priorities, and meet deadlines to achieve timely results.

* Able to follow established protocols and procedures and to report deviations to Manager in a timely manner.

* Flexibility; willingness to assist staff with routine and last minute projects.
