Key Responsibilities

The Manager of Learning & Development is involved in all Team Member training activities, including instructor-led, on-site and virtual. The position reports to the Director, Learning & Development (L&D).

L&D provides training and development opportunities to all Team Members, with this specific position holding the primary responsibility for designing and delivering eLearning and classroom training across the organization. Identify training industry best practices and technology opportunities to ensure our L&D program is best in class.


The Manager of Learning & Development maintains responsibility for analyzing strategies, programs, and processes for the effective usage of the organization's training. Manage and ensure the timely completion of specific, defined, multi-discipline training programs or projects. Consult with functional teams and stakeholders to assess training and development needs and the effectiveness of established programs. Be tactical in delivering the agreed upon training. Develop testing strategy and program implementation for training participants. Resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways as an experienced learning professional.

Key Responsibilities:

* Consults with functional and program stakeholders to ensure training and development align with program goals and participant career objectives.

* Partners with other L&D team members and HR Partners to support the design and delivery of all development programs, organizational development initiatives, talent development, and career development programs and team interventions.

* Contributes to design and delivery of L&D projects, programs, initiatives and interventions by gathering and summarizing data. Prepares for meetings and classes, helping develop training tools and resources and creating project plans and conducting best industry practices research.

* Provides Community presence for training activities; Assists in design and delivery of management & leadership development content

* Develops and manages training content; Builds assessments; Creates innovative methods for delivery; Train the trainer; Manages onboarding/orientation processes; Supports mentor programs; Manages Five Star University's on-line content for all functional training tracks. (Agelity, BTR, Compliance & Legal, Lifestyle 360, Purchasing, Sales, Brand/Customer Service, Workplace Safety), with minimal direction.

* Manages content for systems related training (Workday, Point, Click, Care and others as needed)

* Work with Corporate L&D to provide feedback and content in order to improve learning solutions

* Manage training calendar and tracking of all trainings and events


* BA or BS degree

* 6+ years of experience with learning and development, curriculum, and human capital

* Experience in working with instructional technology, distributed learning solutions, and learning management systems

* Experience with developing and prescribing strategies for curriculum management and adult learners

* Strong consulting skills with the ability to interact with internal clients at all levels

* Knowledge of adult learning theories and emerging trends in the industry

* Minimum of two years of experience in course development

* Extensive project management experience

* Ability to be a self-starter, innovative thinker, and problem-solver in a fast paced, ever changing environment

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Intermediate or above proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

* Intermediate or above proficiency using industry-standard course authoring tools a plus (e.g.; Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Lectora, or similar)

* Ability to collect, compile, analyze, and synthesize information adeptly

* Ability to work both independently and as part of a tightly integrated team and collaborate across functional and organizational boundaries

* Demonstrated excellence in oral, written, reading, and listening comprehension abilities.

* Experience and/or interest in working with a diverse audience.
