Junior Trader/Operations Manager

The Job

* Work with Head of Trading to execute municipal bond trades on a daily basis

* Oversee all aspects of trade confirmation and affirmation process

* Responsible for reconciling ABOR and IBOR on a daily basis

* Manage the outsourced middle and back office vendor

* Identify, pilot and apply new technology to improve workflows and analysis

* Work with Head of Investment Operations to establish our best practice operation flows and constantly upgrade to set the market standard

* Work with engineers and product managers to design and develop production code of trading strategies: pricing models, execution logic and performance optimization

* Understand and adapt to client investment goals and divergent portfolio mandates

* Interact with head of trading, portfolio managers and research analysts to vet primary and secondary offerings

* Monitor and evaluate market, sector and issuer-specific developments

* Monitor positions' profit and loss for accuracy and adherence to risk limits

Requirements

* At least 3 years working in live trading environment

* Passionate about the merits of impact investing and the power of open data

* Familiarity with execution management and order management systems

* Strong understanding of the lifecycle of a tradeUndergraduate degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, finance/business or similar; master's degree is a plus

* Excellent written and oral communication skills with willingness and ability to communicate ideas to clients and management

* Skills in reviewing, monitoring, and developing internal governing procedures and policies

* Experienced enough to know how the municipal industry operates today, but with a strong desire to make it more efficient and transparent in the future

Additional Preferred Qualifications

* CFA and/or FRM would be a plus

* Municipal market experience preferred

* Credit analysis or portfolio management experience

* Knowledge of derivatives and other fixed-income asset classes

* Experience in a startup environment or fintech company

* Intermediate to advanced skills in Python, R, or Matlab
