Investment Associate Performance Reporting & Analysis

Summary:

Supports investment team by performing variety of research and operational functions to enhance team productivity, performance analysis, and client reporting.

Receives broad cross-sectional exposure to investment analysts, client portfolio managers, marketing, operations, administration and investment technology specialists by executing, supporting, and coordinating diverse set of tasks. Performs basic performance analysis and research tasks including performance reporting, maintaining benchmarks, and mastery of software supporting efforts.

Responsibilities:

* Runs performance reports for client meetings; serves as power user of investment performance reporting and portfolio management software systems.

* Prepares investment presentation and other materials for internal investment committee meetings, making any changes as directed by Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and/or Portfolio Managers.

* Performs basic functions on Bloomberg and/or FactSet.

* Attends investment team meetings for support and learning opportunities.

* Participates in audits by collecting data and preparing reports, as requested by CIO and auditors.

* Maintains investment performance composites and benchmarks using a mix of spreadsheet and specialized software, primarily on a monthly or quarterly cycle.

* Provides assistance to CIO and Portfolio Managers on project basis as a generalist resource including basic investment research, data management/analysis, technology evaluations, and background work on topics of interest to team and clients.

* Serves as backup trader.

* Maintains and coordinates updated client and account information on trust accounting system, as well as on trading and performance systems ensuring consistency between systems.

* Works with team to ensure positive and timely response to client requests.

* Represents team on various cross-department functional committees, including software evaluation and process improvement initiatives.

* Performs basic cataloging, filing, archiving, and maintaining of databases.

Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree in related field such as finance, business, mathematics, or economics.

* Prior experience with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software applications, especially Microsoft and Adobe products.

* Minimum 1-5 years experience in an investment office or bank environment strongly preferred.

* Knowledge of investment terminology.

* Knowledge and experience with trust and portfolio accounting and performance reporting systems strongly preferred.

* Knowledge and experience with trading systems and other portfolio management software preferred.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Excellent proofreading skills

* Ability to streamline functions by identifying efficiency and process improvement opportunities.

* Excellent attention to detail.

* Positive attitude, team player, and willingness to accept new assignments and interact with staff at all levels.
