This is a provisional appointment.

Brief Job Description (essential functions of job):

Under general supervision of the Director of Animal Care and Control, interprets policies, rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

* Performs work of moderate difficulty typing and filing forms and other related documents.

* Enters data on inquiries for domestic animals lost reports, retrievals and adoptions. Maintains inventory of lost animals in the shelter.

* Answers phone and takes messages; refers calls to proper department or agency.

* Maintains office inventory of supplies; informs supervisor of supply needs.

* Performs other duties as requested. Performs related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications

* Must have three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time office experience, or any equivalent combination of the required experience and/or substitution.

* General knowledge of office procedures, filing and record keeping.

* Ability to use software such as Microsoft Office preferred.

* Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
