Director, Lean Six Sigma & Process Improvement

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for oversight of all Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and process improvement projects at DentaQuest, This is a highly visible, process-focused and business-oriented role to drive innovation for internal processes. In addition, the role also has a key responsibility of managing a team of CI professionals and supporting them in project execution, functional mentorship and guidance, and their overall success. The position requires managing a group of individuals that identify process improvement opportunities, prioritize those opportunities and execute to deliver measurable value to the organization. Responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of multiple concurrent projects and serve as lead of project teams.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define the strategy and governance framework for the six-sigma team to deliver measurable benefit to the organization
  • Identify the highest value continuous improvement projects, coordinate project teams, and drive completion of projects
  • Execute process improvement programs using concepts such as Lean and Six Sigma tools such as DMAIC, Gemba, Kaizen, A3 thinking, Control Charts, Value Stream Analysis, 5S, Error Proofing, Visual Management, etc.
  • Responsible for disseminating Lean leadership (including facilitating Lean workshops), developing and coaching operational efficiency concepts and change management capabilities, and cultivating a continuous improvement culture
  •  Develop reporting and tracking mechanisms for business productivity progress and opportunity identification
  •  Provide project, methodology, and tool support to Green Belts and Black Belts for implementation of projects
  •  Build internal partnerships with functional leaders to facilitate project identification and selection process
  •  Recruit and train best in class continuous improvement professionals while supporting and mentor ambitious team members in their career and personal development, at all levels of your organization
Required Skills
  • Thorough knowledge of process improvement. Must have an ability to lead projects or handle large, complex processes, must have a mindset that is oriented to constantly drive process improvement.
  • A proven track record of executing measurable process improvements and successful change management
  • Ability to use various PC applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and relationships at all levels of the organizations
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, transparent and fluid environment
  • Oral and written communications.
  • Agility in a quickly growing environment with competing demands
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work well under pressure
  • Ability to communicate via telephone and work in virtual teams

  •  Bachelor's degree in Business and/or Finance.
  •  Master Black Belt Certification
  •  A Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt with a minimum of 8 years of lean six sigma experiences and ‘hands on’ track record of implementing process improvements
  •  Experience in developing and teaching Lean/Six Sigma principles through White/Yellow/Green/Black Belt training
  •  A proven track record of executing measurable process improvements and successful change management
  •  Experience with Data Analytics with ability to collect data, analyze date and deliver data.
  •  Experience creating and / or working with SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures)
  •  Experience with process mapping tools and ability to create L1, L2, L3 process maps
  •  Experience working in a structured department where metrics and performance guidelines are tracked and monitored
  •  Experience working with and leading operations team
  • Operations Process Improvement, Six Sigma, or LEAN experience

Preferred

  •  MBA strongly preferred
  •  Previous experience executing LSS initiatives across a large organization preferably in healthcare industry

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  •  Ability to work in a traditional professional office setting.
  •  Ability to sit at computer terminal for extended periods of time.
  •  Occasional overnight travel
  •  Work schedule determined by project schedules.
  •  May be required to work on the page/call rotation
