Responsibilities

The University has established a new School of Healthcare Business and a new undergraduate degree program, B.S. in Healthcare Management. This unique degree program combines a business curriculum with an in-depth understanding of healthcare and life science business, and includes didactic and experiential education.

The School of Healthcare Business is recruiting adjunct faculty to teach various courses in the program. Adjunct faculty may develop and/or teach the courses. Instructors are responsible for course preparation, developing instructional materials, grading and assessment, and professional responsibilities as a member of the instructional team of a school or academic department. All courses utilize the Blackboard Learning Management System. Courses may be taught online or on-campus in Boston.

Example of courses for which faculty may be needed include: Introduction to Life Sciences and Medical Devices; Introduction to Accounting; Introduction to Healthcare Business; Introduction to Economics; Healthcare Marketing; Healthcare Operations and Quality; and Program Management.

Qualifications

Required:

* A Master's degree in business and/or a healthcare discipline

* A minimum of five years' work experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, device or managed care companies

* Proficient skills and experience in Microsoft Office computer software

* Ability to evaluate, design, and implement curriculum, testing, and teaching methodologies

* Ability to work effectively with diverse populations

* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

* Ability to develop assessment tools to effectively assess student learning

Desired:

* Teaching experience in a University setting

* Knowledge of student-centered teaching methods, curriculum, and education programs

* Experience with Learning Management Systems
