Senior Civil Engineer - Water Resources

Position Detail: The ideal candidate is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) with 15 years of heavy civil / water resources experience. The candidate will work in a variety of related projects in fields including but not limited to: fisheries, passage, hydropower, dams, flood control, pump stations, water treatment, storm water, surface water management planning, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.

Responsibilities:

* Evaluation and design of water infrastructure projects and other civil engineering support tasks. Design experience should include familiarity with treatment facilities and/or distribution/conveyance facilities.

* Develop detailed designs, plans, and specifications for infrastructure projects, including pipeline storage, and pump station design for storm drain, recycled water, and wastewater collection systems.

* Conduct analysis of water, wastewater and recycled water mechanical systems, including coordination with equipment suppliers/venders to develop recommendations for rehabilitation or replacement projects

* Prepare or oversee preparation of planning reports, plans and specifications, and cost estimates for various water, recycled water and wastewater infrastructure projects

* Conduct or participate in workshops and meetings with clients, maintain project budgets and schedules

* Manage planning, design and construction support services for water, recycled water and wastewater infrastructure projects (Design Project Manager)

* Collection and analysis of field data, as-built plans and engineering reports to establish existing conditions and identify critical areas for design criteria

* Design of storm water management systems for water quality and quantity control

* Preparation of drainage, soil erosion and sediment control, utility relocation, right-of-way, staging and construction plans, specifications and engineering estimates for water resources and transportation projects

* Client relationships develop, manage and maintain internal and external client relationships

* Manage projects including client expectations and project scope, schedule, and budgets

* Project and Task Management effectively manage multi-discipline teams for a wide range of water resources projects and tasks.

* Staff Supervision provide for staff growth in a respectful, collaborative manner that promotes positive team spirit.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University;

* Master's degree preferred

* 15 + years of experience in civil, and/or hydraulic engineering;

* PE Required; NCEES registration preferred

* Demonstrated experience with heavy civil / water resource infrastructure including fishery related projects, water conveyance, storm water networks, heavy grading, water treatment, hydropower, and pump stations

* Experience with civil design software including AutoCAD Civil3D;

* Strong communication, technical and analytical skills;

* Knowledge of codes and standards related to civil design;
