Registered Nurse - Allumbaugh House (Part-Time)

Provide professional nursing care in collaboration with multi-disciplinary treatment team members. Responsibilities include the ongoing assessment, planning and treatment for patients at Allumbaugh House.

Must be able to work weekdays, evenings and every other weekend.


* Performs and documents comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments, including admission screening.

* Assesses patient on-going needs, assists medical staff in direct care delivery and initiates treatment under physician supervision.

* Develops, implements and evaluates a plan of care based on patient's needs. Generates appropriate medical chart notations.

* Provides psycho-education based on the assessment of patient needs.

* Communicates patient's current status and plan of care to other caregivers

* Evaluates the need for, prepares, administers and evaluates the effectiveness of medications.

* Provides direct nursing service to patients consistent with clinical procedures and within the approved scope of nursing licensure, may include, but not limited to: assisting patients with activities of daily living including ambulation, dressing, toileting and feeding as needed.

* Provides guidance and support utilizing therapeutic communication skills.

* Establishes and maintains therapeutic and professional boundaries.

* Demonstrates compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

* Integrates knowledge, experience, professional standards and organizational policies into nursing practice.

* Supports a therapeutic treatment milieu that is recovery-focused.

* Performs designated lab procedures.

* Provides first-aid or emergency care as needed and may coordinate patient health care needs with social services or other outside agencies and/or providers.

* Works closely with the supervisory staff to ensure smooth patient flow through the Allumbaugh House, specifically ensuring timely and accurate communication between internal and external community partners.


* Successful clearance of Department of Health and Welfare criminal background check.

* Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Idaho.

* One year work experience in a behavioral health setting.

* Understanding and adherence to ethical standards of the respective licensure board.

* Good written and verbal communication skills.


* Two or more years experience in the field of alcoholism, substance use disorders and mental health.

* Knowledge of computer and email systems, as well as EMR.

* Knowledge of community resources and Patient Assistance/Medication Assistance Programs.

* Familiarity with State of Idaho Health & Welfare Mental Health system.
