Position Overview

Advise Business students on academic policies/procedures, career options, degree requirements, and course selection. Participate in retention efforts for the College. Participate in recruitment efforts such as Bronco Weekends, orientations, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Advise/communicate university, college and department requirements to new, continuing and transfer COBE students. Provide guidance on program plans, academic goals and educational success. Participate in university and college based student services programs and events.

* Coordinate college academic advising strategies, communication plans, program reporting and evaluation activities. Create and contribute to best practices. Develop, schedule and deliver academic advising trainings for COBE advisors and staff. Provide support to academic departments through formal liaison roles influencing curriculum and supplying student based data to drive department and college wide decisions.

* Collaborate with Academic and Advising Support Center (AASC), New Student Programs (NSP), and other campus support programs to create and promote meaningful academic opportunities for students. Serve on various committees, councils and boards around the university. Participate in activities and events that support the mission of the university and college.

Minimum Qualification (Including Certificates and Licenses)

* Knowledge of the basics of academic advising and the ability to relate to a diverse student population.

* Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in General Field and 2 years' experience in similar type of work.

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in Business.

* Master's Degree or Equivalent in Counseling or Student Services.
