Job Summary

This leadership position manages the Process Engineering team including; setting the direction and expectations for team performance, using independent judgment to identifying strategic improvement opportunities for the company, and clearly planning and prioritizing work. The position requires a high level of technical competency in engineering, and demands an individual that can manage cross functional teams with in supply chain.

Job Duties

* Manage the Process Engineering team in support of strategic initiatives and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs across all facilities. Provide clear direction and help establish team priorities based on the BAF strategic goals and business needs.

* Provide direction to the process engineering staff on the management of projects and process improvement initiatives from initial scope development through completion. This includes ensuring projects are well executed utilizing best practices, accomplish the business impact outlined in the project scope, and are completed on time and within budget.

* Responsible for the development of the Process Engineering team, ensuring technical bench strength and a leadership pipeline. Manage development plans, leveraging internal and external training resources, to ensure the engineering competency at Basic American Foods provides a competitive advantage.

* Support the development and execution of capital projects and Budget Authorization Requests in accordance with the BAF Strategic Plan. These projects include Profit sustaining projects, Profit Enhancement projects, and Business Growth projects.

* Develop capability to coordinate and leverage talent and best practices in Engineering. Continuously research new technologies/best practices and their applicability to BAF's engineering efforts. Drive efficiencies through continuous improvement initiatives and increasing equipment utilization. Oversee engineering support to all manufacturing operations including the application of lean manufacturing principles in process improvement and design.

* Provide leadership, project management and support to complex projects, considering a variety of solutions.

Education and Experience

* Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, with an MBA preferred. A minimum of seven years of experience, including three years of leadership experience.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

This position is located just outside of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Situated along the Snake River at the western edge of the world famous Rocky Mountains, Idaho Falls has all the features of big city living, but still embraces a small-town charm. Our skyline consists of the majestic Teton Mountain Range, and in our backyard is the world's most famous park - Yellowstone.
