Third Party Data Asset Manager

The Office of the Chief Data Officer is charged with being the voice of data and generally representing data as a strategic business asset. The primary role of this organization is to champion the use of data and information across the firm, and drive changes and improvements in data related operations. This office will help to enable the business, as well as provide insights related to attendant risks. Significant effort will be dedicated to determining PwC data related needs, and developing proposed solutions. The Chief Data Officer team identifies where, when, how, and why the business uses data, and transforms it into information that serves clients.

PwC's Data Management Organization is an internally-focused team which is strategically aligned to the Firm's priorities and passionately focused on maximizing the value of data as a strategic asset by maintaining data standards and improving data quality across the enterprise. The team is responsible for assisting with implementing the overall strategic direction of the the Data Management Organization and the Information Management strategy of our cross line of service and cross functional organization. Establishing and maintaining the highest possible standards for managing our Master Data will enable simplification, reduce costs, and increase the intrinsic value of the information the team manages.

PwC's Third Party Data Asset Management function sits within the Office of the Chief Data Officer (CDO), strategically aligned to the Firm's priorities and focused on maximizing the value of data as a strategic asset. The team is responsible for assisting with implementing the overall strategic direction of the Data Management Organization and the Information Management strategy of our XLOS / XFunctional organization.

In particular, the team is involved with all aspects of the third party business/market data asset management lifecycle including sourcing, competitor reviews, budgeting, procuring, cataloging, vendor relationship management, new data solution data rights permissioning, usage analysis, strategic data planning, as well as direct data contract review and negotiation.

This team works collaboratively with the LoS, Finance, Firm leadership, other IFS enabling functions (including procurement and OGC), as well as directly with Data Owners across the firm. The team will be involved with all aspects of the third party data lifecycle, the primary function be oversight over PwC's data catalog including expansion, maintenance, and reporting. Position/Program Requirements Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 5 years of professional experience with third party business and market data vendors across the industry spectrum, preferably with direct user / analyst experience and a contract management background, and the ability to work directly with all levels of staff to understand the business requirements of their data needs and translate them into contracts that benefit the firm in the most cost effective way.

Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or GED

Degree Preferred: Bachelor's degree in business, economics or library science

Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrates extensive knowledge and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

* Direct analyst and/or research experience in consulting, professional services or investment banking; and,

* Direct experience with business and market data vendors across the industry spectrum (e.g., Capital IQ, Factset, Thomson Reuters, Claritas, Nielsen, Dealogic, Bloomberg, Gartner, Forrester, IDC, BMI, EMIS, Lexis-Nexis, Factiva, Privco, Preqin, etc.), including experience as a user and in contract negotiation, management, and oversight.

Demonstrates extensive knowledge and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

* Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross lines of service and functional firm leadership;

* Effective project management and prioritization/time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously;

* Effective facilitation skills and ability to coach/ teach others and excellent written and verbal communication skills, including problem/conflict resolution skills; and,

* High level of client service modeled through ability to develop work approach, project plans and communications to meet/exceed client requirements and establish maximum impact/outcomes

Skills Preferred:

Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in navigating and working effectively in a heavily matrixed organization with effective technical skills, preferably including Tableau, Alteryx and Excel Data Analysis and data governance.
