for diagnostic purposes. The intent of this job description is to provide a summary of the major

duties and responsibilities of this position and shall not be considered as a detailed description of

all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* 1. Directly assists Radiologist during all aspects of invasive procedures and performs CT scan examinations as directed by the Radiologist.

* 2. Communicates clinical observations during CT Scan examinations to Radiologist. Presents clinical history as recorded on appropriate documentation to Radiologist.

* 3. Demonstrates competency in the knowledge of the RIS/HIS modules appropriate to their job responsibilities.

* 4. Injects contrast for CT Scans in accordance with department policy. Patient CT questionnaire is completed for each patient and reviewed prior to start of exam.

* 5. Performs 3-D imaging functions.

* 6. Provides educational information to the patient regarding their examination.

* 7. Maintains responsibility for own professional development through active participation in inservices and/or continuing education programs.

* 8. Accurately adheres to downtime procedures to assure appropriate information is available resulting in excellent continuity of care for patients.

* 9. Knowledgeable regarding patient condition, history and appropriate background and information pertinent to proposed examination.

* 10. Accountable for quality of digital images sent to PACS. Verify correct patient is selected from worklist, ensures accuracy of Medical Record information prior to being sent to PACS.

* 11. Responsible for the success of the department to achieve hospital designated Press Ganeyscore. Every patient should receive patient education.

* 12. Annual peer review of images meets department standards.

* 13. Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/Entity as well as theproper release of information.

* 14. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient andenvironmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.

* 15. Demonstrates/models the Network's Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).

* 16. Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.

* 17. Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.

* 18. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.

* 19. Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate equipment and chart information. Sitting for up to 5

hours in 30 minute increments. Standing and walking for up to 3 hours in 15 minute increments.

Pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients up to 300 pounds with assistance. Occasional stooping,

lifting and raising arms above shoulder level. Lifting and moving of objects up to 30 pounds.

Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to normal vision.

QUALIFICATIONS (MINIMUM)

EDUCATION: Graduate from an ARRT recognized education program or ARRT registered or

ARRT registry eligible.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: One-year staff technologist experience. Advanced CT registry required within one year from hire date. Current CPR certification required before

completion of orientation. History of computer usage experience required.

WORK SCHEDULE: Saturday & Sunday 7p-7a, on call as needed.
