Paralegal (678-948)

The Paralegal provides elevated administrative support to the General Counsel and other members of the Senior Leadership Team on matters of a legal nature (such as legal research, correspondence preparation, and insurance claims) as well as executive assistant functions.

* Complete annual and mid-year insurance applications. Maintain policies binder. File claims with insurance consultant/carrier. Maintain claims files and prosecute claims.

* Maintain subpoena registry. Log received subpoenas/garnishments/levies, etc. Circulate to subpoena distribution list. Send notification to customer. Coordinate production with various departments. Log production details. Review archived correspondence, including e-mails to determine relevance and absence of privilege, for attorney review.

* Creates and maintains case docket and pleadings binders.

* Perform legal research on ad hoc basis as issues arise; prepare draft memo to General Counsel.

* Prepare draft legal correspondence to customers and others.

* Maintain file and log of policies prepared by General Counsel.

* Investigate facts and law of cases to determine causes of action and prepare cases.

* Provides administrative support to the EVP/General Counsel, including calendar management, coordinating appointments and meetings, making copies, answering and directing phone calls, and implementing and improving upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow.

* Serve as backup to Corporate Secretary, including taking minutes at meetings of the Boards of Directors, Board committees, and management committees; converting to draft minutes for management review; correspondence to directors and management.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

* Associates degree in related field of study required. Bachelors' degree in related field of study preferred.

* Paralegal Certificate preferred.

* At least five (5) years of experience as a paralegal with some litigation experience required.

* At least three (3) years of experience as an assistant to a C-Suite executive required.
