The Industrial Engineer is responsible for developing job evaluation programs, finding ways to eliminate wastefulness in processes, devising efficient systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, information for manufacturing and the field. The Industrial Engineer ensures that quality, safety, and productivity goals are met. This role is also heavily involved in project management throughout the plants fabrication, weld, paint and assembly processes.

Responsibilities:

Identify areas we are not meeting productivity goals and initiate projects to resolve the issues. Look for trends.

This role will include quite a bit of project work. Identifying projects, then executing them. Project Management.

One per month, the planning cycle is done and we know our volumes and can identify excess or shortages of Manpower and how to utilize. Monthly manpower planning.

This person will manage 3 -- 4 projects on average at a time.

Lead or participate in cross functional teams to continually improve manufacturing, welding and assembly processes.

Develop and update manpower utilization plan (Yamazumi) and maintain work content by operator.

Participate in project planning meetings and provide guidance in selecting new/next projects (Compass Room Activity).

Develop, configure and optimize industrial processes from inception through implementation and ongoing monitoring. Develop strategy to maximize plant productivity

Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data using time study and MOST standards.

Design, run, test and upgrade systems and processes

Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output using Lean and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) techniques and tools.

Manage cost and time constraint.

Perform risk assessments

Provide process documentation and operating instructions

Participate in a development plan to lead the World Class Manufacturing Workplace Organization pillar.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree is required -- Industrial Engineering degree preferred. Others considered: Manufacturing Engineering or Business with a Management emphasis or similar.

This is an entry level position that does not require previous work experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

2 years of experience in an Industrial Engineer role.

Previous internship experience.
