ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF):
This position is responsible for achieving an annual revenue goal for a team of Financial Advisors within a defined territory as well as personal production goals. Position requires an aptitude for recruiting, training, coaching, development and retention of sales staff. Development and maintenance of partner relationships is critical.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Annually attain an investment/insurance revenue goal for assigned territory; this is accomplished through the sales practices of Financial Advisors and Licensed Relationship Managers (Licensed Bank Employees). If producing manager, responsible for attaining personal production goals. Sales Manager must ensure goal attainment via training, coaching, and development of all producers for profiling, product selection and securing the business; management and delivery of products for sales efforts including fixed/variable annuities, mutual funds, and insurance. Sales Manager is responsibilities for the initial and subsequent development of important relationships including but not limited to: Retail Bank Sales Managers, and Retail branch employees; and partners such as Business Banking: internal departments such as Investment Program Administration, Marketing and others. Develop Action Plans for Direct reports, and for sales territory as a whole. Coach Financial Advisors to attain sales production goal by working book of business, lead lists, and closing on referrals. Must meet referral goals back to the Retail Bank. Develop a complete understanding of Key Investment Services solutions to support cross- selling opportunities and learn the core bank products to coach to referrals back to the Retail Bank. Be an active partner with Retail Bank Sales Management. Coach Financial Advisors to be engage licensed and non- licensed Branch personnel to identify investment referral opportunities from new and existing bank client base. Keep abreast of bank- based investment industry trends and product offerings, the securities markets, and participate in ongoing education to learn about products applicable to the bank- based market space. Attend training where appropriate.
Motivate others and influence performance results. Broad knowledge of characteristics and needs of clients and partners within the bank- based investment market space. Demonstrated ability to sell products and services to investment clients; evidence of strong sales results. Proven track record of successful recruiting, training, development, coaching and overall management. College degree. Minimum 5- 10 years industry sales management experience. NASD Series 7, 24 and 66; Life & Health Insurance licenses. Ability to use: standard office equipment, proprietary financial services systems, Microsoft Office.
