RCS Corporation has an immediate need for a Full Stack Web Developer for our client in the Bellevue, WA area. This is a 1-year contract opportunity with the potential of extension.
Who We Are
RCS Corporation is a certified Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) specializing in the recruitment of professionals for best-of-class companies throughout the United States. Since 1994, RCS recruits top talent for direct hire, temp-to-perm and contract staffing positions and provides customized payroll services. Our Recruiting Specialties consist of all Engineering Disciplines, Project Management, Project Controls, Information Technology, Energy Efficiency and Business Professionals.
Our client is seeking to contract with an experienced full stack web application developer to design, implement, and support internal business workflow web applications to enable teams of engineers designing, constructing, and (eventually) operating low-carbon advanced nuclear power plants. As the data-centric ecosystem comes to fruition, additional data, integrations, and workflow needs are likely to become required. This role will evolve with the system, integrating workflows even outside of engineering if deemed appropriate. In this role, you will:
-Work with engineering management teams to translate workflow requirements into application requirements within a specialized data-centric ecosystem informed by the publicly available IAEA-TECDOC-1651 report, Information Technology for Nuclear Power Plant Configuration Management (https://www-pub.iaea.org/MTCD/publications/PDF/te_1651_web.pdf)
-Implement web applications to meet the engineering/design workflow requirements.
-Be the first web application developer in an environment populated with a variety of nuclear and mechanical engineers writing scientific/engineering Python and Fortran codes
-Work within our nuclear-grade quality assurance program (e.g. satisfying standards like ASME-NQA-1 for parts of the system, and satisfying applicable cybersecurity needs in an export-controlled project).
-Design and implement connections between the data-centric ecosystem and a variety of specialized engineering tools (e.g. P6 for scheduling, IBM’s DOORS NG for requirements management, ARMI for core analysis).
-Interface with and potentially expand the Idaho National Laboratory’s open-source Deep Lynx system (https://github.com/idaholab/Deep-Lynx)
Key Qualifications and Skills
-Strong and demonstrable experience building database-driven web applications with custom workflows
-Working understanding and willingness to work within strict software QA standards (we are not a “move fast and break things” kind of operation).
-Experience integrating disparate systems with a single source of truth using data transfer mechanisms (e.g., APIs, possibly in separate languages).
Strong front-end experience with VueJS, Quasar, etc. with focus on simple but intuitive interfaces controlled by specialized business logic
Strong software development skills required with good intuition on best principles like SOLID, YAGNI, testing, tooling etc.
-Strong database design skills, including normalization, ACID, etc.
Bonus points for Python experience for integrating with our Python-based engineering analysis platform
-Experience interacting on nuclear methodology with the NRC under an ASME NQA-1 compliant QA environment desired but not required
-Experience with nuclear Configuration Management desired (but not required)
-Strong formal technical documentation skills desired
-Self-motivated: able to seek out tasks and produce value aligned with team goals without waiting for next assignment
-Passion for and dedication to software best practices
-Willingness to openly give and accept professional criticism through code reviews and other venues
-Strong verbal communication skills desired
-The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork
