Technologist Sales Associate

The Technologist Sales Associate (TSA) will possess a strong understanding of customer relationship building and consultative sales. The primary focus of this role is to understand a variety of technology products and services to create offerings for customers that are aimed at making both home and business office users more successful. The TSA is a subject matter expert for Small and Medium Business (SMB) and Home customers, and the conduit to selling Managed Service Products (MPS) and Device Managed Service (DMS) within the Office Depot Tech Zone (TZ). The TSA will directly recommend and sell both in-store and in-office services and solutions to small and medium businesses and customers inside of a retail store. The TSA will work closely with the outside sales team by referring more complex business solutions and services to this sales team. TSAs will also assist walk-in customers with technical issues by diagnosing issues and partnering with a remote services team. The TSA is responsible for complete Solution Selling Experience offering SaaS, DaaS, MSP, Cyber Security, and more.

This role requires sound knowledge and previous experience working with PC hardware. This role also demonstrates a passion for the brand, technology products and services, solutions to be offered to our customers. S/he will consistently demonstrate advanced problem solving and selling engagement techniques, with specific strengths in customer engagement and satisfaction. The TSA will utilize advanced selling skills, along with knowledge of enterprise-level MSPs and solutions to actively engage SMBs, creating a consistent pipeline of leads for the outside sales team. S/he will be able to think strategically, while managing details and communicating effectively with all levels of business customers, including executives and CEOs. The TSA will maintain the highest levels of technical, product and selling training/certifications as determined by the Office Depot team.


* Bachelor's Degree

* High School Diploma or GED

* 3-5 years' experience

Other Information:

* Certifications from leading technology vendor/partners including: HP (AIS, ASP), Apple (ACTC,ACSA), Cisco (CCSP, CCNA, CSE, etc), Citrix (CCA, CCSP), APC (SPD, SPBN, etc), Microsoft, other software certifications as identified

* Current, industry-leading certifications as determined by Company leadership

* Must be able to read, write and present in English

* Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment

* Strong proven track record of building, developing and managing strategic channel partnerships,

* strong organizational and negotiation skills.

* Excellent communication skills: verbal and written.

* Must be able to present complex topics (i.e., pricing and service strategies).

* Must have a demonstrated record of relationship and account generation

* Cloud, mobility, virtualization, server, storage, and/or networking competencies

* PC Hardware

* SaaS, DaaS, Cyber Security

* Strong level of advanced consultative sales/customer engagement skills

* Solid experience and/or understanding of IT services and products

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to successfully interact with business owners, technical resources, and managers

* Able to transform technical IT solutions language into terms everyone understands

* Detail oriented, with impeccable follow-through to see an entire sales cycle through to the end

* Strong desire for knowledge and success

* Not intimidated by learning, suggesting and implementing new and/or innovative sales tactics
