Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Membership Accounting Specialist Lead to our location in Beaverton, OR.

We are seeking a Membership Accounting Spec Lead to be responsible for improving the quality of service provided to Health Plan members and groups through training and other activities. The Team Lead is the primary resource and subject matter expert within the team, as well as to other departments in the following areas: member and/or group eligibility, premium billing and payment reconciliation. This position will be the key support for the team for day to day work issues. The Team Lead will also diffuse escalated calls and work with other departments on issues that may arise, they will reach out to other teams as needed to support this work.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide constructive feedback on caregivers; work on continuous caregiver development and growth opportunities with Supervisor/Manager.
  • Conducts 1:1 small group training sessions utilizing workflows or other written material.
  • Contribute toward team cohesiveness and efficiency; participate as a 'team player', supporting co-workers while setting an example of high personal and professional conduct for co-workers and others.
  • Participate in cross functional teams and departments for continuous process improvement.
  • Provide recommendations and observation summaries to the Team Managers on opportunities identified during the service observation processes.
  • Coordinate with Health Plan departments outside Operations to ensure that new and existing information is incorporated into the Operations documentation.
  • Identify ongoing needs assessment and work with the TQAC to develop training based on findings in the areas Eligibility, Billing/Reconciliation and Member Services.
  • Help prioritize workloads of caregivers.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • 2 years relevant health insurance experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 3 years health insurance experience in Customer Service or Membership Accounting with emphasis in Medicare guidance.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Facets navigation skills.
