GBI Commercial (GBIC) is a hard surface solution provider to the commercial industry with a focus on hospitality, multi-family housing, and other high profile commercial projects. In addition to our stone, ceramic/porcelain, quartz and gauged porcelain, GBIC has developed unique hard surface solutions to meet the needs of the commercial markets.

GBIC has an immediate opening for a full-time Commercial Account Executive - A&D. GBI Tile & Stone offers a friendly environment where Customer Service and Teamwork are highly valued.


This position is responsible for obtaining new customers and growing existing relationships with General Contractors, Procurement and Owner groups, and the A&D community.


* Meet and work with ownership groups, designers, architects, general contractors, product managers, executives, and librarians

* Develop a Strategic Sales Plan to build market share focusing on key commercial Architecture & Design firms.

* Maintain and grow relationships with top specifiers in the A&D community; Call on national strategic architecture and design firms to drive specifications locally and throughout the country.

* Develop relationships with Architects and Designers to keep informed about their projects and to create tile and stone specifications with Emser during the design stage, before they go out to bid.

* Responsible for organizing and implementing Product Knowledge with assigned accounts.

* Work with GBIC Team in developing samples, specifications and merchandising

* Assist with competitive analysis

* Travel to projects and meet with owners, project managers, and contractors as required

* Look for opportunities for add-on sales at project sites

* Quality Control of products as needed at job sites

* Responsible for overseeing and advising the company on forward-moving trends on designs and innovation

* Resolve customer concerns and product issues

* Coordinate bids and project specifications with Commercial Project Team

* Responsible for obtaining plans, finish schedules and information from PM or Contractor in order to bid projects

* Provide sample submittals


* Travel required approximately 50 percent of the time

* Oversee projects through completion

* Provide data for pipeline and sales reports on a monthly basis

* Other duties as assigned


* Must be able to work with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

* General knowledge of hospitality industry, construction, purchasing, and supply chain

* General knowledge of Commercial and Wholesale Distribution sales

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Required: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Business; and a minimum of five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
