Sr. Digital Marketing Manager

VMware is looking for an experienced digital strategist to collaborate with VMware digital demand strategists, SEO experts, product managers, and SMEs to plan, create, publish and maintain useful, useable and compelling digital content for VMware's highly-technical customers and prospects.

Strategists will have a thorough understanding of the impact different content has at each stage of the journey to help accelerate the buying decision and support the entire customer lifecycle. Based on data and analysis, you will work to continually improve the digital experience and standards in order to drive customer satisfaction and achieve business goals.

You will analyze content data, persona information, and content journey maps to determine what content to create or update, and recommend strategies to make content more effective. You will create informed schedules and editorial plans based on customer needs and company priorities; identify editorial opportunities for content and provide improvement plans.

A successful strategist will:

* Create content strategy for organizations or areas of specialization with a focus on digital, social, mobile, and global content

* Ensure overall brand message integrates into content strategy and achieves business goals by maximizing the impact of content

* Understand VMware's unique position in the marketplace and articulate that position through appropriate and targeted content

* Bring a solid understanding of design, user experience, writing and technology to the strategy function

* Analyze, create, edit, distribute, manage and monitor content

* Drive the content experience across multiple channels

* Help build and manage the content roadmap for a business unit

* Determine the mix between brand generated and third-party content

* Align impactful types of content at specific points of the customer journey

* Identify KPIs and measure content effectiveness and refine strategy

* Define, document, and maintain guidelines for content and metadata

* Bring a solid understanding of SEO and SEO optimizations skills to the content strategy plan

Required Experience and Skills:

* 7+ years experience

* Proven writing and editing skills

* Experience defining content KPIs and measurement

* SEO knowledge

* Social media marketing savvy

* Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence and work collaboratively across organizations

* Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while juggling priorities and tight deadlines.

* B-to-B storytelling that resonates with a technical audience

* Ability to build relationships with cross-functional partners and stakeholders
