Job Title: Senior Accounting Analyst

Location: Austin, TX

Reports to: Accounting Supervisor


The Senior Accounting Analyst is a broad ranged accountant with emphasis on general ledger reconciliations, cash management, prepaid assets, fixed assets, G&A expenses, as well as 1099 reporting. The Senior Analyst will also be responsible for processing, reviewing, tracking general ledger entries, reviewing GL accounts for month-end close, including sub-ledger to ledger reconciliations.

Essential functions:

* G&A analysis and accruals

* G&A reporting for internals

* Review and post fixed asset entries

* Review and post general journal entries

* Review and post bank account reconciliations

* Account Reconciliation compiling, analysis & review

* Year end 1099 process for both AP and Revenue payments. Includes reconciliation to Accounting System as well as transmitting reports to IRS, and working IRS notifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

* Excellent written and verbal communication skill.

* Thorough knowledge of G/L and A/P

* Proficient use of Microsoft Excel

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills (think outside the box)

* Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision to meet deadlines

* Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, fast growth environment

* Flexibility and willingness to work closely and learn within a team environment

* Exceptional attention to detail

* Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and effectively lead work direction

* Oil and gas experience is a plus but not required

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

This is largely a sedentary role: However, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The worker is also required to have close visual acuity for viewing a computer terminal, reading, transcribing, and preparing and analyzing data and figures.

Position type and expected hours of work:

This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours.


Minimal travel may be required to attend training and conferences as well as vendor meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Business (Accounting or Finance preferred)

* 3-7 years in Financial Accounting
