SBA Loan Coordinator

Amplify Federal Credit Union Austin, TX

The SBA Loan Coordinator is responsible for protecting the Credit Union's interests by ensuring proper loan documentation and closing packages are compatible with policy, regulatory requirements and loan approvals, administration of a business loan participation program, SBA loan packaging and re-sell activities, SBA loan monitoring, and support of all Business Lending initiatives.


Generates loan documents, either internally or through a 3rd party, which support the business unit and conform to the Credit Union's servicing platforms

Acts as first point of contact for loan monitoring and reporting between Amplify Members, internal departments, applicable governmental agencies, and third parties

Produces periodic reports to ensure that all loans are serviced and monitored in compliance with closing conditions, Amplify polices, and applicable laws; produces periodic statements of participant account activity and other Accounting reports, including General Ledger reconciliation for Member Business Lending

Develops and implements file documentation workflow; ensures that all loan files are accurately documented, scanned, and stored

Packages and submits SBA 7(a) loan packages to the SBA

Coordinates SBA guarantee re-sale opportunities through relationships with secondary market buyers

Monitors competitive bids and identifies most profitable opportunities to sell SBA guarantees

Ensures timely and accurate monitoring and reporting to maintain SBA compliance for sold loans

Ensures accurate and timely exchange of information between Amplify and participant stakeholders

Coordinates and documents wire transfers among participation partners

Tracks outstanding loan documents and compiles all loan documents into appropriate application files within applicable timeframes

Performs pre-closing lien searches and post-closing lien perfection activity

Performs a post-closing file review after all documents have been received; notifies the Vice President - Commercial Lending of any exceptions

Coordinates loan closings with Commercial Loan Officer, Underwriters, Attorneys, and other Third Parties

Disburses business loan proceeds and draw proceeds for constructions loans, lines of credit, and SBA 7(a) loans

Job Requirements


Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree in related field desired.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience preparing documentation for commercial loans.

Minimum of one (1) year experience preparing documentation for SBA 7(a) loans.

Related financial industry experience (mortgage lending and banking) preferred with Credit Union experience highly desired.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must be bondable by a credit union.

Software & Equipment Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Other Qualifications

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Familiarity with the SBA 10-Tab Procedures/SBA One

General knowledge of credit union/financial services

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

A passion for people and service, as well as a dedication to building relationships with members

Ability to work with members and staff tactfully and professionally, both personally and on the phone

Ability to work proactively and independently with minimal supervision

Strong computer skills and proficiency with keyboarding in a PC/Windows environment, with an aptitude for learning new software programs

Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed

Starting Pay

Starting pay for this position is generally between $20 and $25 per hour, depending on experience.
