The Facilities Foreman is responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds of the organization through oversight of leases, equipment purchases, maintenance, supplies, and furnishings. The Facilities Foreman ensures the buildings and grounds are maintained by tracking needed work and projects while ensuring compliance and identifying cost savings opportunities. The Facilities Foreman is in charge of a budget and must negotiate with outside Vendors to establish contracts for supplies, repairs and other measures.

This is an MTM Transit position located at our office in Austin, TX (South).

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, oversee and perform day-to-day maintenance and repairs of buildings, grounds and equipment
  • Perform and provide oversight for staff who install, inspect, repair, and maintain building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, safety, and hydraulic systems
  • Maintains a safe and effective working environment
  • Assist the Fleet and Facilities Manager with the oversight and management of all facility financial and material resources. These responsibilities encompass determination of requirements, justification of need, prioritization, presentation, accountability, and administration
  • Coordinate the administration of service contracts for maintenance, repair and other services affecting facilities, equipment and furnishings
  • Maintain relationships with all 3rd party Vendors dedicated to facilities maintenance and repair, utilities generation and distribution, custodial, landscaping, and other maintenance services
  • Track and report on all new construction, renovation, repair work, projects, equipment, work orders, daily maintenance, and supplies to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and on time
  • Identify cost saving opportunities that can be incorporated in a comprehensive facility strategy
  • Work closely with local Personnel to achieve the goals and adhere to Company policies and the Procurement Department
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of Facility Management experience
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Knowledge and ability to diagnose, repair and maintain building systems and shop equipment

  • Knowledge of basic finance and accounting skills
  • Able to follow all Company policies and procedures
  • Ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and be a problem-solver
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 25 to 30 pounds
  • Strict adherence to Company philosophy/mission statement/goals
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required
