Embedded Software Engineer

You will work as part of a team of highly skilled embedded software engineers to develop quality, industry leading audio and haptics applications. Responsibilities

  • Build embedded ARM software for Cirrus devices
  • Develop Linux/Android software for Cirrus devices
  • Bring-up and debug new devices and platforms in embedded environments
  • Build and review software architecture specifications
  • Architect, develop and integrate embedded software in a regulated product development process
  • Collaborate with other teams such as hardware, verification, validation, tools, and applications.
  • Perform defect tracking and peer code review

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in CS/EE with 2+ years of embedded systems software development
  • C/C++, Python
  • Familiarity with serial buses and protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, USB, I2S)
  • Incorporate strong troubleshooting skills using software (automated tests, debuggers), hardware (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, DMMs), and other resources (schematics and datasheets)
  • Development board and customer platform bring-up experience
  • Build systems knowledge (e.g., make, Cmake, Meson, Ninja)

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Master's in CS/EE with 5+ years of embedded systems software development
  • Embedded OS architecture knowledge
  • Signal processing algorithm development a plus
  • Linux Kernel Device Driver development a plus
  • Jenkins and CI systems experience
  • SCM systems usage including GIT/Gerrit
  • Test Driven Development experience
  • Experience with a variety of MCU and DSP cores/processors
  • Experience with Continuous Integration Systems (Jenkins, Sonarqube) and static analysis tools
  • Highly dynamic, ambitious and driven personality with excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills and the ability to work across functional groups and organization
