General Description

Under the direction of the Park Store Manager, this position is responsible for providing clerical and customer service support for Inks Lake State Park. Provides customer service and information to the public in person, on the telephone and in writing. Responsible for revenue collection, accounting for daily revenue and ancillary product sales. Operates TPWD TxPark POS system, Backoffice Inventory system and desktop or laptop computer. Prepares reports and processes correspondence. Performs general cleaning of the Park Store and park store grounds. Works under close supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.

Qualification Guidelines

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

* Completion of 8th grade.

Experience:

* One year experience in general clerical, cash handling or customer service.

Licensure:

* If driving is required, applicant must possess a valid State driver's license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

* Graduation from High School or GED.

Experience:

* Two years experience in fee collection;

* Two years experience in customer service;

* Two years experience in data entry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Knowledge of general office procedures;

* Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures;

* Knowledge of basic mathematics;

* Skill in using MS Word, Excel and Outlook;

* Skill in effective verbal and written communication;

* Skill in providing quality customer service in a courteous and professional manner;

* Skill in handling a high volume front desk;

* Skill in making independent, sound and timely decisions;

* Ability to accurately handle cash and account for revenue collected;

* Ability to work under stressful conditions;

* Ability to work as a member of a team;

* Ability to work independently with little or no supervision;

* Ability to serve as team leader for seasonal and volunteer staff;

* Ability to perform manual labor including, lifting supplies and materials up to 20 lbs.;

* Ability to conduct work activities in accordance with TPWD safety program.

Additional Information

WORKING CONDITIONS:

* Required to work in a public park with overnight camping and day use;

* Required to work 10-40 hours per week with hours other than 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and days off other than Saturdays, Sundays and holidays;

* Required to adjust to changing schedules;

* Hours may be reduced or extended as needed;

* Required to perform manual labor including, lifting supplies and materials up to 20 lbs.;

* May be required to operate a State vehicle;

* Required to travel 5% with possible overnight stays;

* Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules and safety procedures;

* Non-smoking environment in State buildings and vehicles.
