Job Title: Completions Engineer II

Location: Austin TX

Reports to: Completions Engineering Supervisor

Summary/objective: Parsley Energy is seeking to hire the listed position within the Completions group as part of a multidisciplinary team working the Permian Basin of West Texas and New Mexico. The position is located in Austin, Texas. The position will have a minimum of 6 years of industry experience and exhibit superior technical and operational skills.

Essential functions:

* Design and implement well completion operations.

* Work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure drillouts and workovers are completed in a timely and efficient manner

* Identify required data needed to optimize drillouts & workovers and coordinate data acquisition.

* Screen vendor performance and identify minimum requirements.

* Do well/offset/regional and basin performance lookback analysis.

* Prepare procedures for all work related to drillouts and workovers utilizing workover rigs and coil tubing units in unconventional horizontal wells.

* Prepare presentations on latest industry technology and latest Parsley techniques.

* Enforces all company safety policies and procedures

* Thorough understanding of hole cleaning, torque & drag, and other standard drilling operations and the ability to apply in a case-hole environment.

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills utilizing sound engineering principles.

* Strong attention to detail

* Ability to self-direct work, learn new tasks, improve processes and document workflows

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document work and share knowledge

* Efficient and effective use of Microsoft Office applications

Supervisory responsibilities:


Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will also work in outside weather conditions. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, cold weather, extreme heat, and vibration.

Physical Demands:This is largely a sedentary role: However, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The worker is also required to have close visual acuity for viewing a computer terminal, reading, transcribing, and preparing and analyzing data and figures.

Position type and expected hours of work: This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours.


Overnight travel will be expected for training, seminars, and visits to field office locations. No more than 20% per year.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Engineering degree (B.S. required); preferable Petroleum Engineering

* 6 years of industry related experience, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in unconventional horizontal plays; preferably in the Permian Basin
