* Telemetry Technician FT Nights

* 72 Hours per pay period; Bi-weekly

* Three 12 Hour shifts per week

* Location: 2400 South Peoria St Aurora, CO

Summary:

Responsible for the continuous observation of cardiac tracings. The cardiac technician will address alarms and deviations from a patient's normal cardiac rhythm or pulse oximetry. The cardiac monitoring technician will notify bedside care givers of any patient changes as needed.

Job Duties:

* Remotely viewing/monitoring cardiac ECG tracing patterns of all patients on a cardiac monitoring unit to identify/detect abnormal patterns and variations.

* Reports all changes and variations in rhythm and rate to the RN providing direct care and/or to their designee.

* Documents reported events in the electronic health record.

* The Monitor technician is responsible to print, analyze the rhythm strip and document in the medical record.

* Functions efficiently and effectively in a stressful situation/environment.

* Accountable for alarm limit setting on the monitors in collaboration with the primary RN.

* Responsible for troubleshooting any telemetry problems.

Requirements

* 1 year in related field.

* High School diploma or GED.

* Preferred: completion of ECG/EKG interpretation coursework.

IF APPLICABLE: BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
